Our facility is a small, expertly restored farmhouse, where you can still feel the atmosphere of a bygone era.

The farmhouse is located in the Colli Bolognesi, in Castel d’Aiano, in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. It is the ideal retreat to stay surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Our warm and familiar hospitality will guide you to discover the many small excellences of our territory, making you spend days of tranquility and well-being, far from the hustle and bustle of the modern city, immersed in nature.

The farmhouse offers plenty of outdoor space, has a breakfast room, 3 rooms with bathrooms on the second floor, made out of pre-existing spaces, of which two doubles and one triple, while on the ground floor with independent access from the garden, there is a triple room.

We are on the edge of a monumental chestnut grove with centuries-old trees that have survived weather and disease over the centuries, about 800m from the provincial road and 2 km from the village of Castel d’Aiano.

History

The construction of the house is not certain. The first part possibly dates to the late 1700s while the second part is dated 1850. It was the “parochial prebend” of the parish priest of Rocca di Roffeno and was a place of safe supply of food (chestnuts) even for the less well-off, as once the harvesting of the product for income was over, it was left to “spigolare” (collect what was left) to anyone who needed it.

Embedded in the wall of the facade also remains a bullet, evidence of the dark period of World War II: in fact, we are at the foot of Mount Spè a place of trenches and an important point of the Gothic Line.
