Modena side

Our farmhouse, thanks to its geographical location, is the ideal starting point for exploring the Modena side of the Apennines, an area full of surprises.

Sassi di Roccamalatina Park: a moonscape

A few kilometers from the farmhouse is the Sassi di Roccamalatina Park, a protected natural area characterized by imposing sandstone towers, reminiscent of a lunar landscape. The park offers numerous hiking and mountain biking trails, and provides a close-up view of the local flora and fauna.

In the nature park you can encounter countless species of animals, plants and wildflowers until you reach the summit of the stone spires, observe the nesting of the peregrine falcon or visit the splendid complex of the ancient Pieve di Trebbio.

Vignola and Castelvetro

About a 40-minute drive from the farmhouse is Vignola, a town famous for cherry production, to which an annual festival is dedicated. Vignola boasts a well-preserved medieval historic center, with the Rocca, an imposing fortress that dominates the town, and the Piazza dei Contrari, one of the most beautiful squares in Emilia-Romagna. Also in Vignola is the beautiful helicoidal staircase kept in the Barozzi Palace.

Also worth a visit is the beautiful historic village of Castelvetro land of Lambrusco and gastronomic specialties to be tasted in the countless establishments scattered here and there…

Ferrari Museum, Ducati Museum, Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum

For enthusiasts we point out that combined with other itineraries it is possible to visit both the Ferrari museum in Maranello and the Lamborghini and Ferruccio Lamborghini Galleries, as well as the Ducati museum in Bologna.

Zocca and environs

About a 15-minute drive from the farmhouse is Zocca, a mountain village known as the “capital of the chestnut tree,” due to the presence of numerous chestnut forests and the production of chestnuts and chestnut by-products, but also known as a place of origin very dear to the well-known singer-songwriter Vasco Rossi, who often returns.

A few kilometers from Zocca are the quaint villages of Montalbano Zocchetta and Montecorone, with their stone houses, ancient churches and breathtaking views.
